Tamarack offers introductory online workshops
on community engagement and related content to members of
the Learning Community.
Online workshops comprise of multi-media
content, case studies, research, and access to moderated bulletin
boards on the topic.
Current online workshops:
- Jane Jacobs: Dark
Age Ahead -
Everyday activist and author Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) turned
a half-century of thinking within the field of urban planning
on its head. Check out this workshop here.
- Leaders and Leaderful
Communities -
The study of leadership gives us important insights
into the development of more leaderful communities. When
we understand leadership as a process of engagement rather
than as something someone is or is not, we are able to
map the process of leadership in action within a community.
Check out this workshop on leadership and take on the
Leadership Challenge!
- What is a vibrant
community? -
How can we identify what makes a community vibrant? Are
vibrant communities those that are thriving or also those
that face substantial challenges? Check out this workshop
to explore these questions by studying the case of a vibrant
community in action.
We provide a range of workshops that give
participants an opportunity to explore aspects of the community
engagement process in detail. We deliberately create communities
of learning, so that participants can learn by accessing our
knowledge, based on experience and practice, share their own,
and develop new constructs. Workshops include hands-on components
so participants can experiment with practical strategies and
processes.
Two-day, one-day and half-day interactive sessions and tele-learning
and online workshops are available to suit the varying needs
of participants.
Costs are based on location and degree of
customization. To inquire about a workshop or presentation
please contact Paul Born directly by emailing paul@tamarackcommunity.ca.
